The trend continued in The Bali Major 2023, as Evil Geniuses failed to reach the lower bracket of the playoffs, leaving beastcoast as the sole representative from South America. After parting ways with K1, beastcoast welcomed a new carry player, David "Parker" Njohote, who injected new confidence and motivation into the team. Despite using the fewest number of heroes compared to their opponents in the group stage, their performance remained unaffected. The key to their success lies in sticking to their established strategy. However, the statistics indicate that their best hero, Terrorblade, may not find a place in the draft of The Bali Major 2023, suggesting we may not see him during the playoffs. Nevertheless, BetBoom Team has other "meta" heroes at their disposal, including Morphling, Medusa, Bloodseeker, and even carry heroes like Broodmother. It might be time to introduce Naga Siren as well.

Securing a position higher than 8th place is crucial for BetBoom Team, as they have not received an invitation to The International yet. They are only 300 DPC points away from qualifying, but Valve's calculation methods can be unpredictable.

In the lower bracket of the playoffs, Team Spirit and 9 Pandas have a tough road ahead. Their first opponents will not be easy: Team Aster or Quest Esports for 9 Pandas, and Team Liquid or PSG.LGD for Team Spirit. However, these teams have already secured their spots in the main tournament of the year. They aim to earn more DPC points to solidify their results in case Valve's point calculation falls short once again.

Moving on to Europe, Team Liquid and Tundra Esports had a disappointing performance during the ESL DreamLeague Season 20. Moving to the Chinese teams, PSG.LGD performed exceptionally well in the group stage, matching the champions of previous Majors and deciphering the tactics of Quest Esports. It's difficult to predict the outcome of their first playoff match against Team Liquid. While PSG.LGD may not be fully prepared for such opponents, they have a chance to make it to the top three of the tournament through the lower bracket.

Team Aster, on the other hand, appears weaker. They showcased their skills in the group stage but had communication issues in the previous DreamLeague. However, their third-place finish in the group and advancement to the upper bracket deserve recognition.

Finally, Azure Ray made it to the playoffs through tiebreakers. Their journey seems to have relied on luck rather than the ambitious claims they made when forming the roster. It appears that these "veterans" of the Chinese professional scene are simply playing for fun.
