Evil Geniuses was the first team to be eliminated from The Bali Major 2023

Evil Geniuses missed their chance to qualify for the playoffs of The Bali Major 2023 in Dota 2 after a tie with Bleed Esports, a team from South America.

At the time of the news, Evil Geniuses hadn't secured a single victory in the tournament. Their performance may have been affected by the illness of Farikh "Matthew" Puente, who suffered from abdominal pain during the first three days of the competition.

Earlier, Quest Esports secured their spot in the upper bracket of the season's final major, becoming the first team to do so. Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team, and Team Liquid are also close to achieving this feat.

The Bali Major takes place from June 29th to July 9th in Southeast Asia, as a LAN tournament. The teams are competing for a prize pool of $500,000 and rating points. The champion will earn $200,000 and 600 DPC points.
