Today begins the first day of the Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024, where the best 16 teams will compete for the $250,000 prize pool. The first place will receive $100,000 and direct invite to IEM Katowice 2025.

The tournament will be played in a double-elimination format with a bo3 group stage, and opening matches will also be played in a bo1 format. The top six teams qualify for the playoffs and will play at Farmasi Arena. The Grand Final of the tournament will again be held in the Bo5 format.
