During the upcoming Shanghai tournament, G2's spot will be filled by Wings Up, as speculations regarding changes within the team continue to circulate. The CS Asia Championships, a $500,000 event scheduled for November 8-12 in Shanghai, China, has announced that G2 will not be participating.

Stepping in as a replacement is Wings Up, who secured a joint third-place finish in the qualifying Perfect World Arena Premier League S5 tournament. Interestingly, Wings Up, primarily a Chinese team, recently made a noteworthy addition to their roster by bringing in two European players, Dominik "Blogg1s" Janita and Rasmus "kreaz" Johansson. Despite their success with the new lineup, they have chosen to compete in Shanghai with the two players they had just replaced, Junhao "ChildKing" Peng and Tzu-Chi "Marek" Huang.

Although no official explanation has been provided for G2's withdrawal from the tournament, this decision has further fueled speculations. There have been ongoing rumors about the potential transfers of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov to the Falcons, although as of the time of writing, neither player has confirmed their move.

G2 is the second team to pull out of the Chinese tournament, with Liquid having made a similar decision just weeks before reports emerged about a major rebuild of their roster. Ninjas in Pyjamas subsequently stepped in to replace Liquid.

The updated list of participating teams for the CS Asia Championships is as follows:
